Cervecería de MateVeza Needs Your Help Tomorrow AT 12PM

Hi folks,

We have cleared almost all of the bureaucratic hurdles for our new brewpub, Cervecería de MateVeza, but we need your help. Our final approval will be given (we hope) by the San Francisco Planning commission tomorrow at 12PM. It is likely that our project will be challenged and that we will have to make a presentation to the Planning Commission. After our presentation, our likely objection-er (a woman that is concerned about our proximity to Mission High School) will be given the opportunity to speak against our project. It’s important that we have several supporters from San Francisco to speak on behalf of our project.

If you are able to attend our meeting tomorrow at City Hall at noon, please let me know. Here is the address and our calendar entry:

Chambers – Room 400 City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place Thursday,
February 9, 2012 12:00 PM Regular Meeting
Agenda: http://www.sf-planning.org/index.aspx?page=30363801 18th STREET – southwest corner of 18th and Church Streets; Lot 001 in
Assessor’s Block 3585 -Request for Conditional Use Authorization, pursuant
to Planning Code Sections 186, 303 and 715.44, to convert a vacant
commercial space into a small, self-service restaurant with an accessory
small brewery (d.b.a. Cerveceria de MateVeza) within an RM-1 (Residential,
Mixed -Low-Density) Zoning District and a 40-X Height and Bulk District.
Preliminary Recommendation: Approval with Conditions
We have letters of support from all of the key neighborhood groups and community stakeholders, so we our chances look pretty good, but public support is also important.

The hearing begins at 12PM and, if challenged, we will present shortly thereafter. If you are nearby, I can text you when we are about to go on. I know many of you may have work, so if you are unable to attend, I understand.

If all goes well tomorrow, there’s a 30-day appeal period, and then we should be able to open in mid-March. It’s getting close!

Thanks so much for your help!
